Course Description
This course is an exploration into Mime, Clown, Comedy, and Movement for Actors. This course will emphasize circus-style performance, strategies, and skills and will include: circus skills such as juggling, balancing skills, unicycle, stunts, pratfalls, and traditional classical circus clown routines. The Clown is a character-driven, eclectic, and highly skilled actor who works primarily visually and rhythmically to make people laugh and touch a warm, wonderful part of the audience’s consciousness and soul. Various disciplines will be drawn upon. Movement: Mime Technique, including Decreux, Le Coque, Mask, and Contemporary Movement and Dance. Vaudeville and New Vaudeville, Silent Film Technique Method Acting and Character Development Comedy Improvisation Circus Arts
