Tuition and Fees

Tuition and Fees

Below are the tuition and fees for the 2026-2027 academic year for continuing students who enrolled before fall 2025. All amounts are per semester unless otherwise specified.

If you are a continuing student who entered in fall 2025 or later, your tuition and fees are the same as those found on the New Students tuition page.

An estimated tuition cost can be calculated by locating your degree level (e.g., undergraduate), type of degree (e.g., Bachelor of Arts), and college (e.g., Parsons School of Design). Your tuition charge may be a flat tuition rate or a per-credit rate, depending on your program and registration. Mandatory university and other fees charged by the university can be found in the University Fees section. Continuing and Professional Education costs can be found in the Continuing and Professional Education section.

The New School has partnered with GradGuard to offer tuition insurance. This insurance offers a safety net for students and families by reimbursing up to 100 percent of nonrefundable educational expenses—including tuition, room and board, and academic fees—if a student must withdraw during the semester for a covered reason. These reasons include serious injury or illness, chronic conditions, mental health challenges, the death of a tuition payer, or the involuntary job loss of a tuition payer. A maximum of $50,000 in coverage can taken out.

Reservation of Rights

While we make every effort to anticipate local and national developments and adapt as appropriate to continue delivering educational services for our students, there may be situations where, for the health, safety and/or wellbeing of our community and as determined by the university in its discretion, we will be required to make changes to methods and timing of instruction, delivery of and access to services and course content, etc., including possibly implementing a full or partial campus closure, temporary suspension of classes and services, and/or switching from on-campus learning and delivery of services to distance or remote learning and delivery of services. By signing up for classes or otherwise enrolling in or attending classes offered by the university, you understand and agree that such changes may take place to the extent the university determines such changes are necessary for the health, safety, or well-being of members of the university community or because of other circumstances outside the university’s control. You further understand and agree that the university does not in any way guarantee in-person, on-campus education or services or any other particular format of education or services. Finally, you understand and agree that you are responsible for all tuition and fees, regardless of the format in which education and services are provided, and that no refunds or credits for tuition, fees, or other expenses will be provided in the event of such changes, including any changes from on-campus education and/or services to remote services and/or remote learning. Any decision by the university to provide a refund or credit, in whole or in part, of any fee or other charge in the event of a campus closure, suspension, or other change to the delivery format of education and/or services shall be in the university’s discretion and shall not create an expectancy that any individual is entitled to such refund or credit or that it will be provided in any other instance.
