Immigration Resources

International Student & Scholar Services runs events and programs designed to help our international students and scholars understand the responsibilities that arise and benefits they can receive from their visa status and generally adjust to life at The New School. Some of our ongoing events and programs are listed below.

For updates to event schedules and announcements of new programs and resources, always check the ISSS newsletters. All international students and scholars are automatically registered to receive the ISSS newsletters in their New School email accounts. For questions related to ISSS events and programs, contact iss@newschool.edu.

Events for J-1 Professors and Scholars

The New School is proud to sponsor a talented group of J-1 professors and scholars each semester. To help these professors and scholars adapt to life in New York City and understand the requirements of their J-1 status, ISSS hosts special events throughout the year, including international scholar orientations, social gatherings, and networking events. For more information on these and other events, be sure to check your New School email for event updates and invitations from ISSS or contact iss@newschool.edu with any questions.

One To World

ISSS is a registered member of One To World, a private New York–based not-for-profit organization that brings Americans and international students face-to-face to share their experiences and perspectives in life-changing ways.

Dedicated to the promotion of global understanding, One To World creates opportunities for cultural, social, and intellectual interchange between international visitors — students, Fulbright scholars, trainees, and their families — and residents of the New York metropolitan area. Check out One To World's program calendar for upcoming events and activities taking place in and around New York City.
