Course Description

In this course we will explore diverse and sustainable product lifecycle systems while building a strategic understanding of the value chain. This experience will include an introduction to the role of new technologies (robotics, 3D, printing, laser) in product/resource development and contemporary design process methodologies that service an evolving customer. Students will engage in case studies related to external companies and relevant industry innovations, acquainting them with cross-cultural contexts and nuances pivotal in nurturing vendor relationships and integrative supply chain systems. The ethics of efficiency and growth are discussed in relationship with their cost implications and the contrast between community and capital.
Open to: Masters degree in Fashion Management majors only. Pre-requisite(s): PMFM 5000, PMFM 5010, PMFM 5020, PMFM 5030 and PMFM 5040. Concurrent courses: PMFM 5060 Global & Local Leadership, PMFM 5070 Retailing & Service Design, and PMFM 5910 Professional Development
