"This course is for students with experience working in Ableton Live who want to further develop their creative practice in digital music production. Through a series of composition challenges, students will develop a wide array of strategies for being creative with sound. Hands-on work will deepen technical understanding of MIDI, sampling, synthesis and effects; style studies will broaden students’ aesthetic horizons; and in-class sharing and discussion will develop critical response skills. The course will culminate in an independent project, in which students will receive 1-on-1 coaching as they complete an EP of original music. GoDigital is a prerequisite for this course.
